remember the break-up of at&t ma bell...
which the baby bells have steadily undone...
at&t (a combo of at&t and the previously acquisitive sbc) now plans to buy bell south
(mostly to get full control of cingular wireless)
so now it's down to verizon, at&t and baby bell bastard stepchild qwest (basically us west)
