research paper questions research papers

a study of studies finds "problems with experimental and statistical methods" mean findings may be somewhat questionable. issues contributing to this include small sample sizes, biases and selective reporting.

after a study is released, the subsequent replication, comments and analysis ultimately determine its validity.

so the next time the results of a study are touted, maintain a healthy dose of skepticism.
